Bear Cub Haven
Whispering Woods is currently working toward building a dedicated black bear cub rehabilitation enclosure to safely accommodate the growing number of orphaned, injured, and sick black bear cubs in need of care. Proper rehabilitation of bear cubs requires specialized facilities that allow for minimal human contact, appropriate enrichment, and the space necessary for healthy physical and behavioral development.
Once completed, Whispering Woods will become only the second DEC-authorized wildlife rehabilitator in New York State equipped to care for black bear cubs.

Whispering Woods Wildlife
As a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) licensed wildlife rehabilitator and registered nonprofit organization, Whispering Woods provides lifesaving care to local wildlife, including emergency medical treatment, specialized nutrition, safe shelter, and rehabilitation services. Our ultimate goal is always the same: to release healthy animals back into their native habitats and give them a second chance at life.
Your donation directly supports the purchase of medical supplies, food, medications, rehabilitation equipment, and shelter maintenance for the wildlife in our care.
Unlike many organizations, Whispering Woods receives zero government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of donors, supporters, and community members to continue its mission. Every dollar donated helps provide essential resources needed to rescue, rehabilitate, and release wildlife back into the wild.

New Fox Shelter
Every year, we are taking in more and more foxes that are orphaned, sick, or injured and need somewhere safe to go. We want to be able to help every fox that comes through our doors, but our current space is becoming a real limitation. That’s why we are working toward expanding Whispering Woods Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation and building a new shelter with a dedicated quarantine area, along with safe indoor and outdoor runs for the foxes in our care. This expansion will allow us to take in more foxes, give them the space they need to heal, and provide the care they deserve. Without it, there will be a limit to how many foxes we can help at one time. If you can donate today, you’ll be helping us continue to care for the foxes right here in our own community. Every dollar truly helps us get one step closer to making this expansion possible.
